What are my rights?

You have the right to:

Say NO to sex.

This means that if you start kissing, touching or having sex and you don’t want to continue, you have the right to stop or change your mind.

Go where you want (within the law).

Feel safe no matter where you are.

• • •

Have fun without being sexually assaulted or harassed.

Report a sexual assault to police at any time.

To be treated with courtesy, respect and dignity

Anonymously report

… sexual assault and sexual harassment via an app called S.A.R.A. 

The information will be forwarded to police and will help them to identify trends and target problem areas.

Apply for an intervention order

… against someone if they are hurting you, stalking you, making you feel scared, continuing to contact you repeatedly even after you have told them to stop or threatening to hurt you.

See a lawyer

… if you have a legal problem or need legal advice. No matter what age you are.

There are two types of intervention orders:

A family violence intervention order helps to protect you from a family member who is violent to you.
